Loki shit

What makes loki.. loki?

Trickery
Charm
Style

these are the things that make his character, and these characteristics are found with any director who chose to take a new spin on his personality.. He is a trickster, weaseling himself in and out crazy shit. The avengers movie was more, well, just plain evil then trickery, but i often ignore that movie because its so drastically different then any other interpretation of him that it feels wrong some times.
Next, hes charming. Whether that be because tom hiddleston is way too attractive to play a villain and not make anyone simp, or that he easily lies or manipulates to get out of trouble. I think its why everyone whos a fan of him can agree that he is hot- his voice is smooth and never seems to waiver, which is often attractive.
lastly, the most argueable one, he has style. I mean, he refuses in any iteration to wear anything but his authentic asgaurdian armor or a whole ass suit. Even as DB cooper, he was jumping out of a fucking plane with a suit on and could care less about it- i mean, its kinda funny. The only time he has an incredibly unattractive outfit is when he gets captured by the TVA, and its a fucking prison uniform! And even THEN people still think he looks good.

But regardless of the fact his character completely changes depending on the director- His character is interesting. Maybe even slightly relatable, with the 'least favorite child' syndrome. Hell, the loki tv show made me love his character even more because now i know that this whore is actually redeemable. And marriage material.

before i go further, warning, there will be ALLOT of spoilers LMAO

Who is loki?

Loki is alot different then the loki in the MCU, so i will talk about both!

Loki, in norse mythology, is the son of Fárbauti, a jotunn, and Laufey, a goddess. Loki has two brothers, whos names i have definitely forgot, but he was married to Sigyn and have two suns. However, the jotunn Angrbooa, known as the mother of monsters, had three other children- Hel, a wolf Fenrir, and a serpent Jormungandr. And also had a eight-legged horse named Sleipnir. So, alot of children

He is also a shapeshifter, found is many different forms. Sometimes in the form of a salmon, a mare (where he had sleipnir.. birthed..), a fly, and even possibly an elderly woman. Its often wondered if Loki is a genderfluid individual or if its like- canon to mythology? idk how to phrase it. He also dies because of Heimdallr! What a treat.

Loki in the MCU is.. very different. Firstly, he has no bitches and no children. But thats not what im here to talk about. Loki laufeyson, who got adopted/kidnapped by Odin and was known as Loki Odinson for many years, is the God of Mischief. He is portrayed by Tom Hiddleston, who acts the exact opposite as the character, and is cannonically Bisexual and his sex is fluid (due to shapeshifting but also genderfluidity).

Loki has always been protrayed as a villain or antagonist, and if fairly known for his stupid little daggers and his constant pretending to die before ending up being alive. I make fun of this because i genuinely believe that each time he "faked his death", the director intended for him to die but then the next director brings him back as a plot device. Dont get me started on how he never seems to use his abilities, HIS REALLY POWERFUL ABILITIES, to literally season 2 of loki. Like whyd he die because of stupid ah trying to kill thanos with a stupid kitchen knife, the writers did him dirty.

He slowly, throughout the series, becomes more of an anti hero then a villain. Its not entirely suprising- he's gone through some bullshit. And by the end of the second season, loki is an actual hero! He fucking saved the multiverse, he made the ultimate sacrifice.

Now, i want to talk about his life. Yet, his life is many stories writen by many people, so what im putting down is me trying to link them all together and make it one story. This will mean i will may have opinions or jump to certain conclusions other people may not like. thats all i will warn you

loki was always interested in sorcery. He was a lonely child, not engaging in typical asgardian warrior arts and finding himself jealous of thor's popularity. He instead spent most of his time with his mother, Frigga. She taught him everything he knew.

In the thor movie, his jealousy and his eagerness to prove himself have overcome him. Loki earnestly adored thor, despite his envy, but he caused alot of danger. Loki had allowed the frost giants into asgard, to try and steal from odin, during thor's coronation. His attempt was to draw the spotlight from his brother, a trick that was a bit too far.

Thor was pissed that the jotuun had broken their agreement- and he sook revenge. Loki, however, had a different opinion and thought that seeking revent would only lead to harm. Yet, Thor ignored him due to his own ego, and continued to lead him and his friends to Joteemhiem. When they confronted Laufey, Thor only angered them despite loki's wants to leave and knowing that this would only end up badly.

Loki, of course, had that fateful scene. His skin turning blue. When he came back to asgaurd, he was quick to find the thing the Jotuuns wanted- and found the truth. Odin of course.. found him there. A lie, that he was asgaurdian, and while odin wanted to make him not feel like an outcast-he had already. And he just learned he was lied to his entire life, and was devastated- and furious. He was scared and upset, and by yelling he accidentally make odin fall in to the odinsleep- a state where he recharged his powers.

Loki called for the guards, later finding out that with thor banished and that frigga refused to leave odin, Loki was left to act as king. Making odin fall into the odin sleep was an accident, and while worried for his father he accepted his duty.

i wont recap the entire movie, but Loki tried to be a good king. He wanted to prove his worth, that he was a good son and that he could rule. That he would be great. The Jotunns had been the problem since forever, so he thought by destorying them.. it would prove himself, since thats what thor had been encouraged to do. He didnt want anyone to stand in his path, taking questionable steps just to get rid of the giants he was taken from.

It wasnt long until he was defeated. Loki and Thor were about to fall into the abyss, and yet, odin saved them both. Loki tried to reason, he was trying to do what was best, and yet Odin still rejected this- rejected him. He had tried so hard, and yet.. it wasnt enough. Hell, it wasnt even what odin wanted- what the people wanted. His life was ruined, letting go and seemingly dying in the void.

After falling into the void of space.. he didnt know he'd get taken by Thanos. Theres always been a theory that Loki was mind controlled by thanos, especially because Loki was alot more powerful and he definitely could of won earth if he truely tried, but i think he didnt. Yes, this might be making up for lazy writing just to make sure that the avengers win and taking the first character they could grasp to turn into a angry murder machine. I mean, how did he get the sceptor in the first place? Why did he meet the chitari? How did he get them on his side? Theres so many questions that if Loki had acted on his own would be unawnsered, but in order to link events together, Ive always believed this theory.

Im sure that Loki was tortured aswell. In Loki season 1, Sylvie was able to easily enchant people and never had a problem until meeting loki. Loki responded saying that his mind was too strong to get taken over, and i believe that the only way one could make him come under the harness of something like the Mind Stone when he had such a strong barrier to magic, he had to of been tortured.

This isnt saying that Loki is a sweet angel that could do no harm. Im saying that this movie, his personality and his morality is a stark contrast to any other movie. It isnt realistic for a character to change like that for no reason, even if he was upset. In the previous movie, he acted with pure intentions and just wanted to prove himself. Yet, Avengers seemed to revolk ALL OF THAT.

Thats also why most people, well, ignore this movie in general when talking about Loki as a favorite character. The idea that he was mind controlled stemed from Loki fans, and has been stereotyped as simply a way simps can justify him and say that he could do no wrong. That, of course, isnt really the case. I also personally ignore this movie because, in my opinion, it was a little sloppy and if Loki wasnt mind controled, it wouldnt of made sense in the infinity stone arc.

So thats my explanation of why im not actually touching base one whats happening in the first Avengers movie. Cus i dont care for it. All i really like is the scenes with loki in it because lowkey its kinda attractive but its also kinda funny how he just swings or has his jaw forward 90% of the time and how greasy his hair is. Im just being honest. Im not gunna be blabbing about something i dont care about.

Argueably the sexiest version of loki appears in 'Thor - The dark world.' Am i wrong though? Hes fucking stunning. Yet, very very depressed.

i know that this page has gone from me reciting what loki does in the thor movie and almost explaining his every thought, to me rambling about how i think the avengers movie kinda sucks, but this will be more of character analysis because i really feel like this movie is the first of the ones he appears in to reveal more of his inner workings in a lovely way.
